What is the largest source of pollution in the world?

Transportation and energy industry is the largest source of climate pollution in the world

To solve the climate crisis, we need to make the vehicles on our roads as clean as possible. We have only a few years left to change the way we use energy to avoid the worst impacts of climate change and improve air quality. Even the slightest improvements will create great impact.

Close to 28% of the world’s CO2 emissions is from transportation.
A alarming number right? Additional damage is done by production, refinement of fossil fuels needed to power these vehicles.

Emissions from cars and trucks are not only bad for our planet, and have a long term effect on our respiratory health.

The future of mobility is electric

The transition to electric vehicles is just beginning. Automakers and governments have been making significant commitments to phase out conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.

Many people still view Electric vehicles with skepticism. Let’s have a closer look at the facts, and clear out some popular myths.

EV’s have come a long way, lots of the stereotype people have on electric vehicles don’t hold now.
Many people still view EVs with skepticism. Today, we will take a closer look at the facts, and let’s try to clear out some popular myths and misconceptions.

Electric Vehicles are not practical, they take a long time to charge and what if i get stranded?

It is true that an electric vehicle takes a different type of planning than conventional vehicles. However, the majority of drivers drive less than 40 km each day, sufficient for a fully charged pure electric vehicle (most can go 60 to 110 km on one charge).

Most people charge at home. Also we are having and will have public charging infrastructure. There will be fast-charging stations along highways and in public places that can re-charge a car/bike to 80% of battery capacity in less than an hour. Also battery technology is only going to improve providing higher range and efficiency.

F̶a̶c̶t̶. Myth
Electric vehicles are not fun to drive

Unlike a combustion-engine vehicle, which has to reach a certain speed and time to get going, e vehicles can achieve full torque almost immediately and is way smoother and silent. It’s all so effortless that in fact, It is more fun to drive an EV than a conventional vehicle.

F̶a̶c̶t̶. Myth
Electric Vehicles being expensive.
This is a very popular statement when it comes to EV’s. Due to their very high upfront costs.

Lifetime cost of electric vehicles is already lower than comparable ICE vehicles

Vehicle owners, especially car owners, would know how it bleeds your wallet with its high maintenance and fuel costs are just rising at alarming rates.
It’s not the case with EVs which has very very less maintenance due to very less moving parts and it has the lowest fuel to distance costs.

F̶a̶c̶t̶. Myth
EV’s are not better for the environment than ICE vehicles (at least now) as they are still powered by electricity from coal mines

We have to know about something called the life cycle emission. Which is the emissions from the beginning of the life cycle of a vehicle, right from the extraction of metals to production, its life on the roads and till the final recycling or its end of life.

Even though the emissions in production of EV is almost double than that of ICE, it evens out and even doubles down the emission in its lifetime compared to an ICE.

An electric vehicle even with the lowest efficiency powered by the dirtiest of power sources would still be more efficient than an ICE over the years in its lifetime.

Transition to electric

We are comparatively in a very early adoption stage,
2020 was supposed to be a game changer in our transition to electric, but we all know 2020 had other plans.
Even though the technology, awareness and quality of vehicles are important. Governments play one of the biggest roles in EV adoption.

With a good charging infrastructure, tax breaks and financial incentives, government has opened the road for electric vehicles and many manufactures.
The current lineup of vehicles may not suit everyone, But the next few years is going to be really exciting, every manufacturer will have an electric offering in its lineup and its evolving really fast and the switch is only going to get easier.

As the world moves towards finding sustainable solutions against environmental damage, let’s do our bit as well.

Commit to a greener future by making your next vehicle electric.
